The towns main activity. One can enumerate
about fifty farming concerns in a 2 581 hectare exploitable area (the so
called « Surfaces Agricole Utile » in french). The
majority are milk production concerns, followed by ovine production, poultry,
etc.
Fishing
This is one of the vital activities
of the town. The registered maritime members represent nearly one third
of the working population which explains the presence of 3 ports in Trégunc :
« Porz Breign », The « Anse de Pouldohan »
and « Trévignon ».
Industry
The town owns two « Zones
d’Activités » (special zones for industry), over
an area of 69 km. These are the « ZA Les Pins » and
the « ZA Pont-Minaouët », containing, respectively,
9 and four companies.
The main employers are : Tipiak (cooked meals), Guy Cotten (oilskin
clothing, marin wear) and the Britt brewery (brittan beer).
Tourism
The large sandy beaches, the dunes
and lakes, the wooded inland and the numerous archeological remains are
only a few of Treguncs tourist assets. Its unique setting earned Trégunc
to be ranked among the best seaside resorts. For this reason, numerous campsites,
weekend cottages and holiday centers have chosen to reside in its area.
Shops and businesses
All groceries, shops and other businesses
are mainly situated in the towns center. Over the last few years however,
we have noticed a new tendancy : the business sector is expanding along
the road to Concarneau.
